URETEK is a group of specialist ground engineering contractors providing rapid, long-lasting solutions to problems of sinking and settling foundations, slabs and infrastructure. We improve and strengthen soils and infill using expanding geopolymers.
Uretek in Brief
URETEK uses the expansion properties of a mix of unique proprietary geopolymer resins to improve the bearing capacity of inadequate foundation strata.
The area of the shipyard affected was formed by a range of industrial flooring in reinforced concrete, located between the yard and the rail of the crane in the ship assembly area. The sinking of the foundation soil occurred because of the passage of the crane that operates carrying heavy loads in the shipyard.
48 568 SQUARE METERS OF HIGHWAY ROAD SLABS STABILIZED
One of the major road transport artery is the Solomon Mahlangu Highway. This highway was designed to carry one million vehicles per year in each direction. Due to the heavy continuous flow of traffic the surface started to crack and deteriorate. Voids were discovered in the layer works 800mm below the concrete surface.
Over the years, the planes in transit have been increasing their loads, with the result that the concrete plates that constitute the slopes or the aircraft parking areas receive high dynamic solicitations. This lead to differential subsidence which was unacceptable for the safety and efficiency of the airport.
3000M² OF FLOORS WERE RE-LEVELLED WITH NO DISRUPTION TO DAILY BUSINESS
The popular hypermarket, K-Citymarket, in Jämsä (located in Central Finland) had experienced challenges as a result of uneven floors shortly after it was built in 2008. Geopolymer injections were used to lift the sunken floor slab in order to generate an even surface to agreed specifications.
