Professor Mete Erdemgil, presented a paper at the 8th Pacific Conference on Earthquake Engineering 5-7 December 2007, in Singapore. The paper was titled, “Utilization of Highly Expansive Polymer Injection to Mitigate Seismic Foundation Failure for Existing Structures”. The paper highlighted 2 case studies that had been done in Turkey that showed the success of using URETEK expansive polymer injections to improve soil strength and resistance, thereby help to protect against potential earthquake damage such as that caused by liquefaction.
