THE WORKS PROCEDURE

EVALUATION CRITERIA BEFORE SITE WORKS

Before repair by any means, it is of course important that the cause of the problem be determined and, if necessary - and possible, addressed.

Thus, before correction by The URETEK Method, either:-
The cause should no longer exist.
e.g. overloading; earthquake

The cause should have been repaired.
e.g. a broken pipe fixed.

It should have been established that URETEK alone will fix the problem.

A decision should be made to programme future maintenance.
e.g. decaying vegetable matter in the ground.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND HOURS OF WORK

A statement in relation to the above, together with a definition of the URETEK scope-of-works, along with any responsibilities of the client or others, is set out in a prior written submission to the client.

The works are programmed to meet client requirements. (In commercial situations or on highways, work can be carried out overnight but this is generally unnecessary as the intrusion of URETEK operations is minimal.)

ESTABLISHMENT ON SITE

All work is carried out by specialist URETEK technicians, operating from a fully equipped mobile workshop.

Upon arrival, the work area and scope of works is reconfirmed with the client and responsibilities checked.

Pedestrians and vehicles are excluded from the immediate work area and any necessary action is taken to protect finishes and fittings.

LEVEL SURVEY & SET-OUT

The affected area is surveyed with laser or computer level and careful evaluation of the degree of settlement is carried out.

Alternatively, where settlement is not the issue, the floor may be checked for voiding by sound attenuation and/or endoscopic inspection.

Where the problem is along joints between slabs, movement down to as little as 0.1 of a millimetre is noted.

Then a series of holes 12 mm -16 mm (5/8") in diameter are drilled in a grid pattern throughout the affected area.

SUB-SURFACE INJECTION

Within a very short period, injection can begin.

A plural component, delivery hose is run out from the URETEK workshop. URETEK material is injected through injection ports, fixed into each hole, down into the immediate sub-base under the slab.

Only such material as is able to expand to fill any voids and compact inadequate strata is initially injected. The compaction effect is verified in real time.

LIFTING PROCESS

If required, injection can continue, in order to lift the floor or building towards the required level.

SEQUENTIAL WORK

These processes are then repeated sequentially across the affected area.

If determined necessary, The URETEK Method may be used in combination with URETEK Deep-Injection to complete the treatment.

FAST CLEANUP

Cleanup is simple and usually consists of a broom, dustpan and perhaps a light vacuum.

RETURN TO USE

Each work area can be returned to use, vehicular traffic or following trades, immediately.
